Lets face it, Earth is in trouble right now. There has been an increased number of disasters and severity of it beside the melting ice caps leading to polar bears drowning, overall increase in global temperature with the recent temperature in Australia for summer reaching to almost 40+ degrees celsius. I honestly don't like that extreme heat. Makes me become dehydrated all the time. so here i am writing about how we can save mother earth. Save the Earth
Being a chemical engineering graduate provides an advantage. We are exposed to renewable technology because we care. Technologies such as Clean coal with emphasis on carbon capture and storage(which my lecturers do not stop talking about) , use of solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy were part of the weekly lectures. oh yes, not forgetting that debate of nuclear energy. All in the name of reduced carbon emissions. But then, normal people like us can't get our hands on this technology so how do we save mother Earth? Save the Earth!
Simple, its what they teach us in school, reduce, reuse and recycle. When we reduce the amount of stuff we use we also reduce the waste we produce. Maybe when we go out shopping, we should bring the green bag or our own plastic bags so we can reduce the amount of plastics ever needed to be manufactured. Or we simply don't buy any items we do not really need. Saves money too. Save the Earth
Reuse...I am a big fan of reusing. the term one man's garbage is another man's treasure or something along those lines is what I like to do. i reuse my paper to write down notes from lectures. i reuse old clothes and sell them at really cheap prices during garage sale or donate to the Salvos. you can definitely reuse a lot of materials. yeay! save the Earth
Recycle. My favorite!!! I love separating paper, cans and plastic bottles when I want to recycle my materials and putting them in the green bin. I remember the ad on tv showing that your plastic bottles might end up as a computer and you save the environment at the same time by not introducing more plastics. Paper being recycled in paper mills to become paper!1 how amazing is that. I wish when I was younger my parents and government had emphasized more on this. Right now i just have to catch up on what I can do.
Ok thats it for this entry. Later
